James was best known for showing up close by Sir Roger Moore in the Bond movies Live and Let Die and The Man with the Golden Gun amid the 1970s.
BBCNews reports his little girl Lynn stated:
"He was the most friendly individual, dearest by everyone. I don't think the man had a foe. We were extraordinarily honored to have had him in our lives."
In 1973 James played Louisiana sheriff JW Pepper in Live and Let Die, in which he showed up in a tumultuous watercraft pursue succession.
His character demonstrated so mainstream he was made a request to repeat the part in 1974's The Man with the Golden Gun, including another auto pursue, in Thailand, and a scene where he gets pushed into water by an infant elephant.
Paying tribute on Twitter, Sir Roger composed:
"Frightfully said to hear Clifton James has abandoned us. As JW Pepper he gave my initial two Bond movies an extraordinary, fun character."
