NEWS- Christians Association of Nigeria(CAN) takes a stand on the allegation against Apostle Johnson Suleman.

The Christian Association of Nigeria says the organisation won't investigate the sexual misconduct allegations made by Ms Stephanie Otobo against Apostle Johnson Suleman the founder of Omega Fire Ministries worldwide.

A top official of CAN's national office said to Punchng that the organisation is only concerned with denominational issues, and not personal ones which Apostle Suleiman's case falls.

However, CAN's source said "CAN  provides an umbrella for Christian denominations and its a bridge between the church and the Nation, not between individual.  This case has to do with individual, ethics and morals.

So its the denomination that Suleman directly subscribes to should look into it and not CAN. Its an individual issue and CAN cannot get involved. If its a matter that has to do with the church, we would have waded into it but its personal.

You can be aware of when he was harassed by what he preached and said, CAN stepped in and declared our position on that matter. But this other matter is a bit complex.

If CAN comes to say the man is being persecuted cos he's a Christian, people might say we're defending what is not defendable and the matter is immoral. Also we do not have an investigative department for such matter in CAN.

But if he is with the Pentcostal fellowship of Nigeria, the body can investigate the matter but CAN is an umbrella body for denominational blocs and not individual Christians per se".
